The KC Dragons beat Gameface 8-2 in the Championship of the USSSA 13 Major KC Sports Fall Tournament!! September 5th, The KC Dragons earned the right to play in the championship game against the new 13 Major Gameface. This team is made up of players from Kansas City, Springfield, MO, and Arkansas. The KC Dragons quickly went down 2-0 in the first inning. In the top of the second, big RBI's by Cooper Marks and Sean Hosford tied the game up 2-2. It was then the KC Dragons attacked and did not look back. The KC Dragons would go on to score 6 unanswered runs and take the Championship 8-2!! Matthew Drummond took the hill for the KC Dragons. He pitched 6 2/3rds innings allowing 2 hits, no earned runs and recording 7 strikeouts!! Offensive stars in the game were Tanner Padgett, who went 2-2 with 3 RBI's, Austin Hoegerl, went 2-3 with an RBI, Cooper Marks went 2-3 with an RBI, Max Storch went 2-3 and Jacob Flores was 1-3 with a double. Defensively, the KC Dragons catchers completely shut down the aggressive baserunning by the Gameface which was another key component in the game. September 5th, The KC Dragons earned the number one seed and would play the 4th seed KC Athletics in the semifinal. The game was a pitcher's dual until the 3rd inning when the KC Dragon's exploded for 7 runs and would go on to win 8-0. Max Storch pitched a complete game "one hit" shutout for the KC Dragons. Ryan Zeferjahn, Tanner Padgett, and Sean Hosford each had 2RBI's in the game. Matthew Drummond also went 2-3 with a double. September 4th, The KC Dragons faced the KC Athletics in their second pool game. The KC Dragons started slow as the found themselves down 4-0 heading to the bottom of the fourth. The KC Dragons were looking for a spark and they found it. With one on and one out in the bottom of the fourth, Tanner Padgett belted a 320 foot home run over the left center fence to cut the Athletics lead in half to 4-2. The KC Dragons would tie the game up 4-4 in the fifth. With the time limit reached in the bottom of the sixth and runners on first and second with 2 outs, Cole Duensing hit a ball into the left center gap to score the runner at second and the KC Dragons won 5-4 in dramatic style. Austin Crawford and Sean Hosford delivered strong relief roles on the mound to keep the KC Dragons in the game and preserve the victory. September 4th, The KC Dragons first pool game in the USSSA 13 Major KC Sports Fall Tournament was against the Clay Platte Sluggers. The KC Dragons dominated the game as they went on to win 12-0. Isaiah Campbell pitched dominant as he pitched a complete game "2 hit" shut out. He also recorded 8 strikeouts. August 31, The KC Dragons could not overcome the 7 walks they allowed and they came up short 9-6 Monday night in league play against the Mac N Seitz Red Sox. Isaiah Campbell had two doubles and Matthew Drummond had a double in the game for the Dragons.
August 30th, The KC Dragons play a great brand of baseball and go on to win the USSSA 14 AAA/Major Sports America TPX Fall Classic!!
August 30th, The KC Dragons entered the championship game and looked to face The Storm, a team loaded with 14 and 15 year old boys. Isaiah Campbell took the mound for the KC Dragons. Isaiah was outstanding as he pitched 5 innings and recorded 8 strikouts and only gave up one run. The game was a pitcher's dual for 7 innings. A big RBI double early in the game by Tanner Padgett and a RBI single by Max Storch in the 4th inning put the Dragons up 2-1. They would hold that lead all the way to the last potential out when The Storm had a clutch RBI hit to tie the game. This meant extra innings and the California rule. The KC Dragons took advantage of The Storm in the top of the 8th as they scored 6 runs. Matthew Drummond pitched the last three innings and did a great job of holding The Storm in check as the KC Dragons would go on to win the Championship 8-3!!
August 30th, The KC Dragons entered Sunday semifinal as the number one seed and their opponent was the 4th seed, KC Rays. Matthew Drummond took the hill for the KC Dragons and once again was dominate on the mound. Matthew pitched a "one hitter" in the game. The KC Dragon's offense was on fire as they pounded out 13 runs on 13 hits. Matthew Drummond had 3 RBI's in the game. The KC Dragon's run ruled the KC Rays and went on to win 13-0.
August 28th, The KC Dragons continued their strong pitching and defense as they battled the Clay Platte Sluggers and won 2-1 in their second pool game. Austin Crawford, Cole Duensing and Cooper Marks all pitched a strong game on the mound. Tanner Padgett had a key RBI double in the game. The win earned the KC Dragons the number one seed in the TPX Fall Classic tournament.
August 28th, the KC Dragons battled the KC Ray's 14's in a defensive pitching dual and won 2-1 with a walk off winning hit by Jacob Flores in the bottom of the seventh. Max Storch and Isaiah Campbell pitched excellent in the game to preserve the win.
August 18th, The KC Dragons took on the 13 year old Mac N Seitz Red Sox team in their second fall league game and "one hit" the Red Sox 9-0. Matthew Drummond pitched 3 awesome innings and Isaiah Campbell shut out the Red Sox in the last two innings. Garrett Stephens was the offensive star of the game going 3-3 with 3 RBI's.
August 17th, The KC Dragons faced a tough 14 year old Cobras team in their first league game and were shut down 8-0.

Sunday, June 20th The KC Dragons qualify for Steamboat, CO as they battle their way to the championship game of the Triple Crown 12 Major MO/KS State Tournament only to come up short 3-2 to the Mac N Seitz Indians in a well fought game!
The KC Dragons weekend started off slow as they lost their first pool game to the Mac N Seitz Indians. The KC Dragons regrouped and for the rest of the weekend they played great baseball.In their second pool game they took on the Lockton Tigers. In the first inning it was Austin Hoegerl that put the Dragons up 2-0 with a blast over the fence for a homerun. Cameron Schultheis took the mound for the Dragons and he had another great outing! Cameron pitched four innings and held the Lockton Tigers to two hits with four strikeouts and no runs given up. In the third inning, the KC Dragon's offense attacked again with eight runs in the third, highlighted by a bases loaded hit by Garrett Stephens. The KC Dragons went on to win 11-0.After two games the KC Dragons were seeded for elimination play and would face the KC Blaze on Sunday morning. The Combination of Austin Hoegerl, Cameron Schultheis, Jacob LaBau and Sean Hosford on the mound turned out to be an effective mix of pitching for the KC Dragons. The four pitchers combined for 6 strikeouts, only giving up four hits and one run. The strong pitching combined with the strong offense allowed the KC Dragons to beat the KC Blaze 12-1. Austin Hoegerl kicked started the offense with a home run over the fence in the first inning. Offensive stars in the game were Austin Hoegerl, who went 2-3 with a homerun and double and 4 RBI's, Garrett Stephens, who went 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI's.The win over the KC Blaze help the KC Dragons move into the semifinal against the KC Mets. Matthew Drummond started for the KC Dragons and was in top form. Matthew pitched four innings and only gave up one run on three hits with three strikeouts. Sean Hosford came in a did a great job closing out the game allowing no runs or hits.The KC Dragons offense exploded against the KC Mets. Again, it was Austin Hoegerl who led the way with a very special day. Austin Hoegerl blasted 2 homeruns over the fence in the game making for 3 in the day and 4 homeruns for the weekend! Austin Hoegerl ended up 4-4 against the Mets with 5 RBI's. When the game came to a conclusion the KC Dragons took the victory 12-1. The KC Dragons knocked out 15 hits in the game. Besides Austin Hoegerl, offensive stars in the game were Matthew Drummond, who went 3-4 with a double, Tanner Padgett, went 3-3 with a sacrifice fly and 2 RBI's, and Sean Hosford went 3-3 with a double and a RBI.The victory moved the KC Dragons into the Championship game against the Mac N Seitz Indians. The championship game turned into a pitching dual. Matthew Drummond took the mound and he was able to pitch the full three elgible innings he had left. Matthew dominated the strong hitting Mac N Seitz hitters. Matthew Drummond pitched shut out baseball all three innings and only allowed one hit. When Matthew left the mound in the bottom of the third the KC Dragons had a 1-0 lead. The KC Dragon's run was scored by Sean Hosford in the top of the third after he doubled and scored. In the bottom of the fourth, Mac N Seitz capitalized by turning two walks into runs and they took the lead 2-1. In the top of the sixth, the KC Dragons struck back. Cameron Schultheis led off with a walk and was move around to third with two outs. Cameron took advantage of a past ball and scored, tying the game at 2-2. In the bottom of the sixth, the Mac N Seitz lead off hitter drew a walk and was able to score on a walk off hit. This allowed Mac N Seitz to take the championship. The KC Dragons came up just short but, once again, showed they can play great baseball! Great baseball KC Dragons!
The KC Dragons played outstanding defense and had incredible pitching but came up short in the USSSA Battle of the Bats at Tiffany.
The KC Dragons started tournament play Friday evening against the Lincoln Dodgers (NE). The game was a pitching dual from the start. Cameron Schultheis had one of his best outings of the year. Cameron pitched 6 innings and recorded 7 strikeouts and only gave up one run. The KC Dragons never got their offense going and went on to lose the game 1-0.The second pool game took place Saturday after a long rain delay against the Kansas Coyotes. The KC Dragons were able to get some strong pitching in the time shortened game. The KC Dragon's pitching only gave up two earned runs. The KC Dragons again struggled at the plate only scoring one run. In the end, the Coyotes took a 3-1 pool game victory.The KC Dragons moved into elimination play and would take on the Coyotes Sunday evening.The KC Dragons-Coyotes elimination game was one of the most exciting, well played baseball games I have ever witnessed in youth baseball. The game was shortened due to weather. The game did not end up shortened as it ended up going 8 neck to neck innings. The KC Dragons struck early with a run in the bottom of the first. No runs would be scored by either team until the 5th when the Coyotes scored to tie it 1-1. The KC Dragon's defense and pitching was awesome. Matthew Drummond was the pitcher for the KC Dragons. Matthew pitched his best game ever. He held the high octane Coyote's offense in check for 7 innings! He hit all his spots and mixed his speeds to perfection. The game was 1-1 in the bottom of the 5th. The Coyotes were threatening with a runner on 3rd. Two Coyotes were intentionally walked to load the bases. The Coyote player went down two strikes but hit a two strike pitch down the firstbase line. Austin Crawford, playing first, dived to snatch the ball and tag the base to prevent the Coyote victory.In the top of the 8th, Garrett Bell walked and Matthew Drummond hit a triple to push the KC Dragons to a 2-1 lead. In the bottom of the eighth, the Coyotes batter led off with a bunt single. The next batter laid a sacrifice bunt down to move the runner to third.The next two batters walked to load the bases. Jacob LaBau then struck out one of the best Coyote's hitters. The next hitter was then down one ball and two strikes and the KC Dragons brought a high fastball in hopes the batter would chase it and the pitch hit the catchers glove in a way it bounced or deflected at an angle. By the time the catcher caught up with it the runner at second attempted to score and the bang bang play at the plate was not in time and the KC Dragons fell short 3 to 2.The KC Dragons played some incredible baseball over the weekend regardless of the tournament outcome!
Wednesday June 10th, the KC Dragons beat the Mac N Seitz Red Sox in a defensive pitcher's dual in Golden Glove League Play.

Saturday, June 5th, The KC Dragons win both pool games Saturday and earn the number one seed heading into Sunday play.
Friday, June 4th, The KC Dragons earned a 6-0 victory because the Northland Yankees were a "no show" and the game was a forfeit in the Justbats.com tourney at Tiffany.
Wednesday, June 1st The KC Dragons entered their league game Wednesday night to face the second place Red Sox (Dolan). The Red Sox came to play and were able to get solid pitching, fielding and timely hitting as they went on to beat the KC Dragons 5-2.
The bright spot for the KC Dragons Wednesday night was Cameron Schultheis's pitching performance. The KC Dragons went down 4-0 in the bottom of the first. Cameron was brought in to pitch in the bottom of the second. Cameron pitched 3 and 1/3 innings and struck out 3 and gave up zero earned runs. He did his job in relief as he kept his team in the game. Trevor Munsch pitched 2/3 of a inning and he struck out the two batters he faced. The offensive star for the Dragons was Tanner Padgett who went 1-2 with a double and a walk.
The KC Dragons are now 9-1 in league play.
The KC Dragons played some of the best baseball in KC Dragon's history over the weekend. They discovered at times during the weekend that when they play together, play hard and play focused they can compete with anyone. The KC Dragon's grew as a team over the weekend and they will use this as they enter the final stretch of the season.
Offensive stars of the weekend were Garrett Bell, who went 5-8 with 5 walks, Garrett Stephens, who went 6-12 with 6 RBI's, Trevor Munsch had a double, triple and a homerun, Jacob Flores went 5-12 with 2 walks, Sean Hosford, went 5-12 with 2 walks, Matthew Drummond had 7 walks, Tanner Padgett, went 4-10 with 4 walks, 3 doubles, and 3 RBI's, Cameron Schultheis had two doubles, and Jacob Labau had a triple with 4 RBI's.
On the pitching front, the pitching was rock solid over the weekend. Big performances from Matthew Drummond, Trevor Munsch, Cameron Schultheis, Austin Crawford, Jacob LaBau and Sean Hosford allowed the KC Dragons to compete at the level of their competition.
Matthew Drummond recorded 9 strikeouts, only gave up 3 hits and gave up no earned runs as Matthew kept the KC Mets in check all night.
The KC Dragons offense pounded out 11 hits and 9 runs. Offensive stars in the game were Jacob Flores, who went 3 for 3 with a triple and a RBI, Cameron Schultheis went 2-3 with an RBI, Tanner Padgett went 2 for 3 with an RBI, Jacob Labau had a triple and a RBI, and Garrett Stephens had a triple and 2 RBI's, and Garrett Bell went 2-3 with an RBI, and Trevor Munsch had a double in the game.
It was one of those special nights for Cameron Schultheis! Everything Cameron did out on the field turned to gold. In three innings of play, Cameron hit a 3 run home run over the left field wall, he missed another home runs by a half inch off the left field wall in the same inning, he made an outstanding fielding play to tag a runner out at the plate, and he pitched three strong innings.
The KC Dragons went scoreless in the top of the first and the Barnstormers were able to piece some hits together in the bottom of the first and they took a 3-0 lead.
With one out in the top of the second the KC Dragons exploded! With back to back hits by Jacob Flores and Jacob LaBau, Cameron Schultheis blasted a three run home run to tie it. This ignited the KC Dragons as twelve more batters would bat and the KC Dragons took a 13 to 3 lead. Sean Hosford also smacked a home run over the fence in the inning and Jacob Flores and Cameron also hit doubles in the inning.
Cameron held the Barnstormers scoreless in the second. In the top of the second, Austin Hoegerl led off the inning with a home run over the left field wall. The home run was followed with four more runs which put the KC Dragons up 18 to 3.
Cameron held the Barnstormers scoreless in the bottom of the third to pick up the run spread victory. This half of the inning was highlighted by a Barnstormer runner trying to score from third and Garrett Stephens from right field threw a bullet to the plate to record the out.
Every KC Dragon was an offensive star in the game!
The KC Dragons are now 9-0 in league play.
The KC Dragons rolled into league play Thursday night to take on the Blue Valley Braves. Sean Hosford took the hill for the KC Dragons. Sean did a nice job pitching shutting out the Braves in the top of the first and had great support from his defense in the inning as well as all evening. The lead off hitter for the Braves was able to get on first but Jacob LaBau gunned him down trying to steal. The inning ended by a solid hit to right but Austin Crawford charged the ball and gunned the runner out at first.
In the bottom of the first, Matthew Drummond led off the inning with a triple and Garrett Bell then singled him in. Austin Hoegerl then hit the ball to bring in the second run. Garrett Stephens, Jacob Flores, and Jacob LaBau all hit singles and when the inning was over the KC Dragons had a 4-0 lead.
The BV braves threatened in the top of the second but the KC Dragons were able to get a big 6-4-3 double play with the bases loaded. The BV Braves picked up one run in the inning.
In the bottom of the second Cameron Schultheis led off with a single and Sean Hosford doubled and the KC Dragons were able to get their run back taking a 5-1 lead.
In the top of the third, the lead off hitter was able to get on again for the BV Braves but again he was gunned down trying to steal, this time Garrett Stephens threw him out. The BV Braves were held scoreless in the inning.
The KC Dragons were held scoreless in the third inning.
In the top of the fourth, the KC Dragons held the Braves scoreless again, ending the inning with a double play unassisted by Jacob Flores.
The KC Dragons were held scoreless again in the bottom of the fourth.
In the top of the fifth, Garrett Bell took the mound. The BV Braves were able to come up with a rally and get the bases loaded with no outs. Garrett Bell stayed strong and determined. He was able to strike out the next batter. The next hitter attempted a bunt but Austin Crawford charged and threw out the runner at home. The next batter was able to work the count 3-2 with bases loaded and two outs. The runners were moving but the KC Dragons were able to take advantage of the situation and pick off the runner at second to end the inning.
The KC Dragons were able to pick up 3 insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a 2 RBI triple by Garrett Stephens.
Trevor Munsch came into the six to close the game and he did. He retired 3 batters 1, 2, 3 to end the game and pick up the save and the victory 8-2.
Offensive stars in the game were Garrett Stephens, who went 2-3 with a triple and 2 RBI's, Jacob Flores went 2-3 with 2 RBI's, Jacob LaBau went 2-3 with an RBI, and Matthew Drummond went 1-3 with a triple.
The KC Dragons are now 7-0 in league play.
The KC Dragons found themselves in a pitcher's dual for the first two innings Tuesday night against the Mac N Seitz Red Sox. In the top of the third the KC Dragons rallied for eight runs on six hits to take a 8-0 lead. The KC Dragons picked up three more runs in the fourth to take a 11-0 lead and go on to a victory. The KC Dragons pitching held the Mac N Seitz offense in check. Matthew Drummond started for the KC Dragons and he pitched three innings only giving up three hits and recording four strikeouts. Jacob Labau pitched the final two innings only giving up one hit and recording three strikeouts.
Offensive stars in the game were Jacob Flores, who went 2-3 with a double and a RBI, Trevor Munsch, went 2-3 with a triple, Jacob LaBau, went 2-3, Austin Crawford went 1-2 with a walk and 2 RBI's, and Tanner Padgett, went 1-2 with a walk and a RBI.
The KC Dragons are now 6-0 in league play.
The KC Dragons found themselves down 4-0 going to the bottom of the sixth and it was then they started their rally. Before they knew they were down 4-3 with the tying run on third and came just short of pulling out a great comeback. The game was a good solid baseball game. Trevor Munsch started for the KC Dragons and kept his team in the game shutting out the Mets in the 2nd, 3rd and the 4th. Matthew Drummond came in to relieve and he shutout the Mets in the 5th and 6th. Offensive stars in the game were Matthew Drummond, who went 3 for 3 with a triple, Tanner Padgett, who went 3 for 4, Jacob LaBau, went 2 for 3 with a double, and Austin Crawford and Sean Hosford went 1-2.



Cameron Schultheis took the mound in the first pool game of the 12 AAA/Major USSSA Grand Slam in Gardner, KS. Cameron had his "A" game going as he pitched 4 innings of "shutout" baseball. Cam had great command of his fast ball. He only gave up three hits and had great defense behind him to support his cause.
The KC Dragons went up 2-0 in the bottom of the first when Garrett Bell lead off the inning with a single and Matthew Drummond walked. Austin Hoegerl and Tanner Padgett followed with a sacrifice fly and a single RBI to put the KC Dragons up 2-0. The KC Dragons scored 3 more in the bottom of the second and hit again with 4 more in the fourth to take a commanding 9-0 lead and go on to a victory.
Offensive stars of the game were Garrett Bell, who went 2-2 with and RBI and run scored, Tanner Padgett went 2-2 with a RBI, Trevor Munsch went 2-2 with an RBI, and Austin Crawford went 2-2 with and RBI.

Trevor Munsch pitched the first three innings Thursday night and he "no hit" the LOZ Royals for three innings. He had three strikeouts in his three inning's pitched. Matthew Drummond pitched the last three innings and continued the pitching dominance. Matthew Drummond also shutout the LOZ Royals and had four strikeouts.
On offense, the KC Dragons struck first in the top of the second when Tanner Padgett and Garrett Stephens started off the inning with singles and later scored. The KC Dragons attacked again in the top of the third when Cameron Shultheis led off the inning with a single and Garrett Bell brought in Cameron to score with a great situational hit putting the KC Dragons up 3-0. That ended up being the final score.
Offensive leaders in the game were Tanner Padgett who went 1-1 with a walk and a run scored, Garrett Stephens went 1-2 with a run scored, Cameron Schultheis went 1-2 with a run scored and Austin Crawford went 1-2 with a double.
The KC Dragons are now 4-0 in league play.

The KC Dragons were able to get excellant pitching performances out of Cameron Schultheis and Garrett Bell. They combined for 3 innings of pitching and recorded 4 strikeouts and only gave up 2 earned runs in the game. The KC Dragon's offense was in high gear. Offensive stars in the game were Matthew Drummond who was 2-3 with a double, homerun and 4 RBI's, Sean Hosford was 3-3 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI's, Cameron Schultheis was 2-2 with a triple and 3RBI's, Garrett Bell was 3-3 with a double and 2 RBI's, Austin Hoegerl was 3-3 with a triple and 2 RBI's, Trevor Munsch was 2-3 with a double, and Austin Crawford was 1-2 with 2 RBI's. The KC Dragons are 3-0 in league play.
The KC Dragons were feeling pretty good in the bottom of the sixth up 5-2 with one out. It was then the KCI Expos mounted a come back and egded the KC Dragons 6-5 in elimination play Sunday. The KC Dragons controlled the game until the bottom of the 6th. Matthew Drummond and Jacob LaBau held the Expos in check throughout the game. The KC Dragons had several opportunities to close the game out early but they could not capitilize on their opportunities. Offensive stars of the game were Matthew Drummond 2-4 with a double, Austin Crawford 1-3 with 2 RBI's, and Trevor Munch was 1-2 with a triple. The KC Dragons went 2-2 in the Global NIT.
The KC Dragons jumped out the a 3 to 0 lead in the first and added some more runs in the fourth and fifth to earn the 8-0 victory in the first elimination game. Trevor Munsch went 5 innings and pitched a 2 hit shutout. Trevor had 3 strikeout's in the game and he had solid defensive play behind him in the fields. Offensive stars in the game were Garrett Bell who went 1-1 with a walk an a RBI, Garrett Stephens went 1-2 with a double and a RBI, Austin Crawford went 2 for 3 with a RBI, Sean Hosford went 2 for 3 with an RBI, Cameron Schultheis went 2 for 2 with an RBI and Jacob LaBau went 1-3 with an RBI.
Saturday, April 17th The KC Dragons lose their second pool game to the Capitol City Bombers 6-3.
The KC Dragons had a 3-0 lead after four innings against the Capitol City Bombers. It was the bottom of the 4th the Capitol City Bombers bats came alive. By the time the KC Dragons hit the 6th inning the Bombers had a 6-3 lead and held on for the victory. Offensive stars for the KC Dragons were Garrett Bell who went 2 for 3, Tanner Padgett went 2 for 3, Jacob Flores went 2-3, and Austin Crawford went 1-3 with an RBI. The KC Dragons earned the sixth seed and would face the KC Blaze Saturday evening.
Padgett and Labau "go yard" and the KC Dragons beat the Barnstormers 13 to 5 going 2-0 in league play.
